Columbus, OH (May 22, 2007) – SBC Advertising recently finalized its lease on a new headquarters in the rapidly growing Arena District of Columbus. The agency's new address will be 333 W. Nationwide Blvd.
SBC recorded 20 percent revenue growth in 2006 and is on pace for comparable growth in 2007. The agency, which specializes in retail, has recently won new accounts including Bed Bath & Beyond, Tyco Fire & Building Products and Subway. The new office will accommodate a 35 percent increase in staffing - the agency currently employs approximately 100 full-time professionals.
SBC has been in its current suburban Westerville location since 1984, but found itself outgrowing its 18,000-square-foot building during the last several years. Despite the fact that SBC has many clients headquartered in other markets, SBC elected to return its headquarters to downtown Columbus, the same city in which the agency was founded in 1969.
The new office will fill an entire restored brick warehouse, which is located on the historic Belmont Block. Design Collective, headquartered in Columbus, has been tasked with the design of the new 31,000-square-foot space. Renovation of the building is anticipated for completion by the end of 2007 and the agency will move into its new office in the first quarter of 2008.
While SBC's new headquarters won't be geographically closer to some of its clients, it will be within home run distance of one. SBC will be working for Huntington Bank on its affiliation with Huntington Park and will only have to walk across the street to view construction progress on the new ballpark.
The new office is also located within one city block of live music venues such as the House of Crave and Lifestyle Communities Pavilion, as well as Nationwide Arena.
"Our success is dependent upon our ability to attract and keep the very best marketing minds to contribute to our clients' business. Our relocation to the city's most dynamic area will play a vital role in our recruitment and retention efforts and ensure that we can keep meeting that challenge," said David Dennis, president.
