Columbus, OH (March 17, 2010) –SBC Advertising has served as a driving force behind recent marketing initiatives for Channellock, Inc., a worldwide manufacturer of quality pliers, which are receiving national recognition. The partnership has further established Channellock as a manufacturing industry leader and even helped the company earn the title, "Manufacturing Marketer of the Year."
Channellock has caught the attention of marketing associations, various publications, and bloggers alike through its marketing efforts implemented throughout 2009. Topping the list of honors is Channellock's "Manufacturing Marketer of the Year" award, presented by the Pittsburgh chapter of the American Marketing Association in December 2009. The award honored Channellock for its work to support the launch of the #89 Rescue Tool, in which SBC Advertising played an integral role. However, the agency’s marketing support extends much further.
SBC Advertising developed a fully-integrated marketing campaign that went back to the company's roots and highlighted its most important assets – its people. Showcasing the company's American-made commitment, SBC Advertising produced a series of "Fiercely Made in Meadville, Pa." print ads that featured actual associates in the Meadville manufacturing facilities. These ads were recognized at The Advertising Federation of Columbus’ annual ADDY awards competition.
"Our associates represent the true American worker," said Ryan DeArment, vice-president of sales and marketing at Channellock, Inc. "We’re committed to producing high-quality, American-made pliers because that's what the American worker expects and deserves. This commitment has not only played a fundamental role in our ability to sell pliers, but it has defined the Channellock brand."
To further support this campaign, multiple SBC departments collaborated together to execute product videos, The Rescue Tool microsite, online sweepstakes, new product launches and giveaways, case studies, social media initiatives, and media buying, among others. All initiatives highlighted Channellock's commitment to manufacture pliers that are top-quality and American-made.
"Channellock tools are precise, durable as the American workers who use them, and are passed on like heirlooms," said Matt Wilson, executive vice president/general manager for SBC Advertising. "Next time you pass a pro's tool bucket, look for Channellock Blue handles – there the one's at the top. We're honored to be a part of the marketing for such an iconic brand."
